Glitz With Glass was developed when the need arose after I created so many items using the glass medium. I started in stained glass, branched to fused glass and then was inspired to create jewelry. All items are created in my studio. Each day is a new one and I may be working on a stained glass custom order, or creating more fused glass surprises or maybe being creative with my jewelry.
My kiln is usually fired and going at all times fusing or slumping something. I get inspiration in so many ways … from my children, our pets, to my community to my surroundings. I am doing what I love and I know that is reflected in my work.
Glass is such a wonderful medium coming in all forms from a powder to a liquid. Fusing glass is so fun and creative. Adding materials such as metals or decals, and experimenting with temperatures in the kiln, produces some amazing things.
Stained glass can be as simple as following a custom pattern to free form. It takes more time and precision, but the outcome is so worth it.
Fused glass is more free form, with variations in forms from material to temperature.
Jewelry has become a true stress reliever for me. Creating a necklace, bracelet or ring and seeing this beautiful item in the end is magical.
